IMPORTANT
- Please read these instructions before you ttempt to use the equipment.
Keep these instructions for future reference.
This unit MUST BE EARTHED.
For TROUBLESHOOTING - see final page
WARNING
1. All electrical appliances/parts must be earthed.
2. DO NOT IMMERSE FOR CLEANING - see cleaning instructions below
3. No user serviceable parts.
4. Isolate power supply before carrying out any installation work.
5. If the supply cord or any other part is damaged or fails to operate it must be replaced by the manufacturer
or its service agent or a suitably qualified electrician in order to avoid a hazard.
6. Always ensure that there is sufficient water in the tank to cover the element.
FIRST USE - It is recommended that the tank is washed with warm, soapy water and rinsed out before
first use.
INSTALLATION
1. Choose a suitable site for your machine taking into consideration its use and any heat that may
be generated whilst in service. Allow a minimum of 800mm above the unit to permit steam to escape once lid is opened.
2. Remove all protective film and packaging material and inspect for any damage which may affect the
electrical safety of the heater.
3. The heater is supplied with a BS1363 13 Amp Plug. If a 13 Amp socket to BS1363 is not available
where the heater is to be used consult a suitably qualified electrician.
4. Should you need to replace the plug connect wires as follows:
Green/yellow wire to EARTH terminal of the new plug
Brown wire to the LIVE (L) terminal of the new plug
Blue wire to the NEUTRAL (N) terminal of the new plug
Always fit the same value fuse that was originally supplied with your heater (13 amp - brown - fuse)
. Only use BS1362 approved fuses.
DO NOT PLUG IN OR SWITCH ON YET
Read the instructions below and make yourself familiar with the operation of the heater. You should
be fully aware of the dangers involved in incorrect operation or cleaning, especially the risk of burns and scalds from the
hot water.
We advise that this heater should not be left unattended when switched on.
The heater should ONLY be used by a trained therapist.
The "dry pot" may be removed by sliding it to the left and then lifting upward. Reverse this procedure
to fit the "dry pot" back into position. Please note that the pot is designed to work ONLY in one position within the tank
i.e. clipped onto the slotted shelf at the right hand end of the main tank.
TANK FILLING, HEATING & EMPTYING
BEFORE SWITCHING ON POWER SUPPLY:
Ensure that the drainage tap is in the closed position before commencing filling. Partially fill the
tank using water not hotter than working temperature. Allow for the increase in water height once objects are introduced.
Do not overfill. The water level should be monitored during use and should always be sufficient to cover the element. 1. Switch
on power supply. The digital display will flash for several seconds.
2. Press button "P" briefly. Use the "Up arrow" and "Down arrow" buttons to set the required temperature
- within the range 50 - 75 degrees C . N.B. The temperature selected before last disconnecting the heater will automatically
be set from the memory unless an alteration is made at this time.
The digital display will show the actual temperature of the water. A small "dot" illuminating above
the word "out" indicates that the unit is currently heating the water.
3. Use industrial rubber gloves when removing heated articles from the tank.
4. DISCONNECT FROM POWER SUPPLY BEFORE EMPTYING
5. Put drain tap in vertical position and drain water into a bucket or soakaway.
6. Perform cleaning (see below) at the end of each session/day.
CLEANING - DO NOT IMMERSE
ENSURE UNIT IS DISCONNECTED FROM POWER SUPPLY BEFORE CLEANING
1. The metal outer body of the heater may be cleaned once it has cooled with a proprietary "cream"
cleaner (e.g. Jif Cream). Wipe digital display only with a damp cloth.
2. The inside of the water tank should be cleaned daily. Disconnect heater from mains. Remove and wipe
dry the shelf. Wipe around the inside of the tank taking care around the heating element and temperature sensor.
ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE
Any required electrical maintenance or repair should only be undertaken by the manufacturer, its service
agent or a suitably qualified electrician.
APPROPRIATE TEMPERATURES
The heater should never be used hotter than the appropriate temperature.
We are informed that suggested maximum temperature settings are as follows:
for herbal linens/wraps 70 - 75E C
for warming of towels 65 - 75E C
for massage oils, etc 54 - 56E C
WARRANTYThe unit is warranted for parts and labour for 12 months from date of purchase with the exception
of faults arising as a result of misuse.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If the heater is used with insufficient water to cover the element or another fault situation arises
a safety switch will be triggered, the digital display will cease to operate and the water will not heat. DISCONNECT THE UNIT
FROM THE MAINS SUPPLY AND ADD MORE WATER. Wait for 2 minutes. approx. A re-set button is situated at the rear of the unit.
The re-set may be activated by inserting a non-metallic object - the blunt end of a pencil is ideal - into the hole and pushing
gently. If problem persists, call a qualified electrician or return the unit to the manufacturers.
In line with our policy of constant product improvement we reserve the right to alter the design & method of manufacture
of this unit.
